Built on Real Experience

We started inaramelione because we lived through the frustrations of poor financial guidance. Now we help UK businesses avoid those same costly mistakes.

Our Beginning

Back in 2019, I was running a small manufacturing business in Birmingham. Growth was happening, but cash flow felt like playing Jenga blindfolded. Every month brought new challenges — timing supplier payments, managing seasonal fluctuations, trying to figure out if we could afford that new equipment.

The financial advisors we worked with spoke in jargon and handed us generic templates. They'd never actually run a business during a supply chain crisis or had to make payroll when a major client paid three months late. Their advice felt disconnected from reality.

That's when Zara and I decided to create something different. We wanted financial guidance that came from people who'd actually been in those stressful Monday morning meetings, wondering if the bank would approve the loan extension.

What Drives Our Work

£

Real Business Context

We've been through equipment failures on busy weekends, seasonal cash crunches, and those sleepless nights wondering about quarterly tax payments. This experience shapes every recommendation we make.

Practical Solutions

No theoretical models or academic exercises. We focus on tools and strategies you can actually use next week, not someday when conditions are perfect.

Honest Assessment

Sometimes the best advice is to wait six months before expanding. We'll tell you when your numbers don't support your ambitions, because false optimism costs money.

Meet Zara Blackwell-Chen

Zara founded inaramelione after spending fifteen years in manufacturing and retail. She's the person who figured out how to keep our original business running during the 2020 lockdowns when half our revenue disappeared overnight.

She specializes in cash flow management and growth planning for businesses with unpredictable revenue patterns. Before consulting, she ran supply operations for a textile company and later managed finances for a chain of independent bookshops.

"I remember sitting in my car outside the bank, rehearsing my pitch for a loan extension. That feeling of uncertainty never leaves you completely, and it makes you better at helping other business owners navigate similar challenges."

How We Actually Work

Our process comes from years of trial and error with real businesses. We've learned what works when you're dealing with actual customers, suppliers, and bank managers.

  • 1

    Business Reality Check

We spend time understanding your actual operations, not just your financial statements. What keeps you awake at 3am? When do customers typically pay? What happens during your slow season?

  • 2

    Scenario Planning

We model different situations based on what could realistically happen to your business. Economic downturns, supply delays, losing your biggest client — let's prepare for reality.

  • 3

    Implementation Support

We help you set up systems and processes, then check back regularly to see how they're working. Plans look different when you're actually using them day-to-day.

What We've Learned

Six years of working with UK businesses has taught us that sustainable growth requires patience, realistic planning, and systems that work during stressful periods.

Most of our clients come through referrals from existing customers. We think that says something about the value of honest, experienced financial guidance when you're trying to build something that lasts.
